Summary[edit]

Description
English: Beaches of Goa are the most explored. But, the interiors, churches, temples and other buildings which are centuries old are always missed out. . St Anthonys Chapel in Reis Magos built-in 1555 adjacent to the Fort on the banks of Mandovi river. Franciscan friars, who were in charge of missionary work for the area, took over the church and founded a small seminary here. Located distantly from the town the place is peaceful and beautiful. Church interiors are quite colourful and impressive, with the highlight being the multi-coloured wood relief showing the Three Wise Men (Reis Magos) bearing gifts to the baby Jesus, which is the centrepiece of the elaborate carvings and paintings behind the high altar.
