Last month, we shared with you the exciting news that Cleveland Burlesque was moving its long-running (five years!) Burlesco shows from the Alex Theater at the 9 in downtown Cleveland to the larger, restored Goodyear Theater in Akron.

The company’s debut there happens this weekend as part of its double-header Sweetheart Showcase weekend (which also includes the11th Annual Sweetheart Showcase at its regular Cleveland venue, the Beachland Ballroom)

“The first-ever Burlesque show in a theatrical setting just like in the 1950s is presented by The Award Winning Titans of Tease Cleveland Burlesque which originally began in Akron in 2004,” they tell us. “This is the first time in Ohio’s history a full burlesque show by a burlesque company is back on a large theatrical stage.”

The Burlesco shows nod to old-time classic burlesque, dubbing their shows “Burlesque as It Was.” The show will be hosted by comedian/author/founder of the statewide LGBTQ+ digital publication The Buckeye Flame/college professor Ken Schneck, the area’s most skilled and entertaining burlesque MC. Featured performers include Ohio Pin-Up Queen Cece Noir, Akron’s Ruby Rabbit, Cleveland’s tallest drag queen Veranda L’Ni, and Cleveland Burlesque founder, Cleveland Burlesque Queen Bella Sin. Other performers include Jade Uzumaki, Aria Corvus, Holly Grail, Hildi Hassenbunny, Agatha Why, Joliee Blak, Fever Blister, and drag artists Dakota Cox and Lady J Martinez and Kardi Redd Diamond.

To get tickets, which range from $25-$100, go to ohioburlesque.com.
