CAFE REN is a new cafe by KUKI at Farrer Parkย

Popular home-based business KUKI, which specialises in open-faced molten cookies, has opened their first physical shop, CAFE REN. Avid cafe hoppers would know that Farrer Park is home to many cafes such as Three Cheers Patisserie and Yeast Side, and CAFE REN is the latest addition to this hip area.ย

CAFE REN provides a wide range of Asian-inspired food options perfect for your brunch and dinner dates. Better yet, KUKIโ€™s well-loved lava cookies can be found here too.

Their Pistachio Lava Cookie ($10++) comes with a chocolate cookie oozing with pistachio praline lava, topped with oat milk vanilla gelato.

cafe ren - mentaiko avo scrambled eggs

One of the recommended items from their brunch menu is Avocado, Mentaiko & Egg ($18++), which features sourdough toast spread with mentaiko, and topped with creamy folded eggs.

That’s not all, the plate is completed with half a fresh avocado, plus lashings of ikura, AKA salmon roe. If you’re craving brunch at dinner, that’s alright, because this is available all day!

cafe ren - scallop truffle cold pasta

A more substantial meal at CAFE REN could start with theirย Scallop & Truffle Cold Pasta ($14++), where furikake- and truffle oil-tossed cold angel hair pasta is topped with torched scallop tartare and ikura. A touch of spice is added with threads of chilli too!

cafe ren - ren hawaiian burger

Then, go forย Ren Hawaiian Chicken Burger ($19++), paired with a side of fries and salad. You can opt for an upgrade to Truffle Fries with a top-up of $3++.

This burger features a 24-hour marinated chicken thigh with grilled pineapple and a creamy purple cabbage slaw between charcoal buns. Balancing out the sweet and savoury in this is a spicy aioli too.

cafe ren - asian paella

If you’re here with a dining companion or two, try theirย Asian Paella ($18++), an ultra generous platter that’s CAFE REN’s take on the Spanish rice dish.

Here, you get a smoked and grilled chicken thigh with crisp-edged sunny side-upโ€”break the yolk into the rice for extra creaminess and flavour.

cafe ren - asian paella achar

We loved the crunchy, tangy achar that came on the side, lending acidity to each bite.

The saffron rice is speckled with raisins and pine nuts too, for bursts of sweetness and nuttiness.

cafe ren - scotch egg grain bowl

Alternatively, theย Scotch Egg Grain Bowl ($18++) is another option to consider; think oozy, lava-yolked eggs in a sweet potato mash, plus cauliflower tabbouleh and a mesclun salad.

cafe ren - sweet potato latte

Dessert fans are in for a treat as Sweet Potato Cheesecake ($12++) and Sweet Potato Latte ($6++) are available here as well.
