About: Sat Burzam Ghor is Goa’s first-ever private Chapel. It was built in 1790 and resembles a Portuguese mansion. The name of the attraction translates into “The house of seven gables” and is famous for its stunning ancient Portuguese architecture. Since it is private property, it is not open to tourists. One needs to take a prior appointment to visit the church.

At a distance of 32 km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand, 27 km from Vasco Da Gama Railway Station and 5.6 km from Margao Railway Station, is the ”House of Seven Gables” or ”Sat Burzam Ghor” is in South Goa. This wonderful house’s design is like a palace. It is also popular as the ‘House of Seven Roofs’. It is a wonderful specimen of the grand Portugal architecture. The main entrance sports Baroque features over its door head and the simplicity of the front facade of the house introduces you to what lies within. A wide open staircase takes you up and into the family chapel that is perhaps one of the finest examples of Baroque and Rococo art executed in the late phase. Today it has only three gables left out of the original seven. Oyster shells windows are fronted by balconies supported by corbels.
