Goa governor P S Sreedharan Pillai releases three books at Raj Bhavan event

RAJ BHAVAN (GOA): Goa's Governor, PS Sreedharan Pillai released three books at a function held at the Goa Raj Bhavan Durbar Hall. Goa's Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated the event. The English books released include 'Heritage Trees of Goa,' 'When Parallel Lines Meet' and a collection of poems titled 'My Dear Poems.' The books were unveiled by West Bengal's Governor, Dr C V Ananda Bose, Tourism Department Minister Rohan Counte and Jnanpith awardee Damodar Mauso. Goa's Archbishop, Philip Neri Cardinal Ferau, Goa Ramakrishna Mission Secretary Swami Maheshathmananda and Senior Journalist Pachumenon received copies of the books.

'Heritage Trees of Goa' is a book that explores centuries-old heritage trees found in Goan villages and various places of worship, adding to the experience of a complete Goa trip. 'When Parallel Lines Meet' compiles speeches delivered by Arif Muhammad Khan, Chief Ministers and Opposition Leaders of Kerala, Mizoram and Goa presented at various book release events hosted by Governor Sreedharan Pillai. 'My Favorite Poems' is a collection of select poems written by Sreedharan Pillai.

In addition to the book release, PS Sreedharan Pillai also distributed checks amounting to Rs. 90 lakhs as part of the ongoing financial assistance scheme for cancer and dialysis patients from the Governor's Discretionary Fund.
