Biography
Maurício Santos is a partner in the areas of project finance, infrastructure and government relations, insurance, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency and restructuring, capital markets, banking and finance at Cescon, Barrieu, Flesch & Barreto Advogados.
He has frequently been recognised as one of the main lawyers in Brazil by Chambers and Partners, IFLR, The Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal.
He represents financial institutions, companies and foreign and domestic investment funds, multilateral institutions and other investors in structured and project financing transactions, securitisations, equity and debt securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions and debt renegotiations.
He holds a degree in law from the University of São Paulo, a master’s degree in law (LLM) from the Law School of Universität Tübingen, in Germany and a master’s in business administration (MBA) for Executives by INSEAD (France/Singapore). He was an international associate at a major New York law firm between 2000 and 2001.
