Tapetes de Arraiolos Trevo

This is an amazing little store that sells traditional folk art handmade arriolas rugs. Each rug is handmade over hundreds of hours where wool yarn is stitched over burlap to make complex but beautiful rugs.

The lovely staff laid out many many rugs for us to look at, and even provided snacks. We spent about an hour looking at the rugs and being educated, even seeing some of the rugs that were used as well hangings and also rugs that were being repaired. There are beautiful things in here! If you are in the market for something authentic, handmade and even possibly a dying art, this is your rug stop in Lisbon.
