Goa is home to finely constructed churches and cathedrals in India and the Se Cathedral is one of the best preserved. Visit this 16th-century masterpiece that took 100 long years to finish and is one of the largest churches in the world. The striking feature of this structure is the vaunted ceiling and the surrounding courtyard. A giant bell heightens the elegance of this majestic white beauty. Don’t forget to be around when the bell rings as it can be heard for miles around. The place is perfect to revive the spirit of positivity in you as the place is filled with the peace and tranquility despite the crowds that come to visit it daily. Watch the amazingly decorated, yet intriguing and simple interiors of the church covered in lime plasters. The convent which adjoined the cathedral has been converted into an Archaeological Museum. Do not forget to try the amazing sea food and fresh fish that is offered by the local eateries just round the corner which can set the mood for a perfect rendezvous.
By Car: A little over 10 km from Panaji. The drive along the Mandovi river is picturesque. Drive carefully, there are a few blind turns.
By Public Transport: Buses run regualrly from Panaji on this route.
