This spectacular ammonite is a Cleoniceras Besairei from Madagascar which has been finely cleared in order to keep the layer formed by the shell that surrounds this prehistoric shell. The lack of acidity in the sedimentation medium allowed to preserve the beautiful mother-of-pearl that this shell had. And this shell ended up at the bottom of the ocean with a smaller of the same species and a Douvilleiceras (more ridged). We kept this natural composition, as it is. These ammonites lived in the Cretaceous, 110 million years ago
