Kelsey Grammer admits to ‘some failings’ in parenting his 7 children

Kelsey Grammer isn’t afraid to admit his flaws as a father.

“Kids are a big part of [my life] now,” the 67-year-old actor, who has seven children combined, told People in an interview published Friday.

Grammer explained that he’s currently dealing with “some failings” as he navigates relationships with his older children.

The “Frasier” alum shares Faith, 9, Kelsey, 7, and Auden, 5, with wife Kayte Walsh; Mason, 21, and Jude, 18, with ex-wife Camille Grammer; actress Greer Grammer, 30, with ex Barrie Buckner; and Spencer, 39, with ex Doreen Alderman.

“I’m trying to iron it out now. Trying to sort them out,” he told the outlet of the dynamic with his adult children, though he didn’t specify which.

Grammer added that he remembers his older kids being “great people” their entire lives.

“They’re beautiful too. I remember them when they were little and I know they were great people. So whatever they’re going through now, can’t tarnish that. They’re still in there,” he elaborated. “The good persons in there.”

Though there is work to be done in Grammer’s relationships with his older children, he said that fatherhood has “never been better.”

He gushed, “It’s the greatest experience in the world, the joy every day of being with my kids.”

Grammer’s daughter Greer reflected on growing up with a famous dad in a 2014 interview with Nylon.

“I remember going to tapings of ‘Frasier’ when I was around 4,” she told the magazine of her childhood. “I knew I was at my dad’s work, but I didn’t get that he was acting for TV. It wasn’t until the second grade that it really hit me.”

She has previously said that Grammer is “super proud” of her success in the industry.
