A beautiful vintage inspired hotel with a perfect location.

The breakfast was great, and the view from the restaurant absolutely breathtaking! The Staff is so kind and helpful.

The water in the outside pool was extremely cold.

Excellent location - walking distance to all main tourist attractions. Nice selection at breakfast Lovely pools

Rooms were very dated and basic Could do with more elevators - lots of waiting at times Was told I couldn’t take the breakfast up for my husband (who was not feeling great) was told I would have to pay for an extra breakfast in order to do so. The children’s park was half closed and very run down. The slide was sealed off so couldn’t be used.

Wonderful

The staff was super friendly, from the doorman, to the receptionists and the restaurant staff. The breakfast was amazing! super fresh food and an incredible varied selection. The location is also really good.

The buffet dinner was nothing special and definitely not money worth - it costed us 33€/person + drinks. The outside walls are not that thick, since we could hear party music all night (Christmas season).

Great location and a nice venue with good facilities. Staff are very helpful and our stay was good value

No restaurant at the hotel means you are likely to eat elsewhere. There is an evening buffet but it’s not great compared to the nearby restaurants

Very good, but they can improve their service

Great location and view, friendly staff.

Both sinks have been blocked (room 237) and there are lots of mosquitos in an indoor swimming pool, you can't sit and relax there. The children's playground was closed (i.e. slide).

Our stay here was excellent and we will definitely be returning. .

The location was close to Funchal old town and Catarina Park was a couple of minutes walk away . The views were spectacular from the hotel. The pools and grounds were kept immaculately. The communal areas were vast and very relaxing. There was a great choice of food for breakfast and served until 11 . All of the staff were professional and friendly. Check out was 12 pm with a free 2 hr extension if your room wasn’t required.

We enjoyed ourselves and if the rooms had what you would expect from a 5* I would have given a 10 .

Stunning views , spacious and the staff were all lovely . Lovely comfortable bed . Food was good .

For a 5* you would expect decent toiletries supplied . We just got a bottle of shampoo, no Soap etc . A Tea/coffee tray should be supplied without having to request one , and it should be restocked daily . This was never restocked -disappointing .

Very Good

Location was great in the centre and in front of bus stops. Great variatie for breakfast. Plenty of options to relax at the pool, pool staff was friendly and helpful. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly with any inquiries. Room service was friendly and flexible (we were traveling with a toddler).

A great stay, would recommend and we will be back.

The location is one of the best in Funchal. The grounds were excellent, including the pool.

The interior is a bit tired. Everything was clean but you could feel that the hotel needs a refurbishment.

Location and the rooftop pool are very good. The breakfast and meals in general are good. Staff is nice.

The gym is too hot and poorly equipped. Bathrooms with old appearance and wood materials deteriorated. Room curtains do not avoid all light. Poor sound isolation. Mattress quality is not adequate.

Lack of hotel information and nearby shops etc. Hotel very hung about telling you about their other hotels. In the room there were 3 large publications about their hotels and virtually nothing about facilities available, timings, local attractions or shopping opportunities.

Nice stay, uncomfortable bed

The facilities in this hotel are quite good and the location is fantastic. Super restaurants less than five minute walk away. Beautiful views, lovely pool areas. Great choice at breakfast. Spa is really nice, we had lovely massages. All staff helpful and friendly any time we had a question.

We stayed here on honeymoon and I had let the hotel know this prior to our to stay and it wasn't mentioned on check in or nothing left in our room to say congratulations. I was also six months pregnant and I'd asked for a nice comfortable room however the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in in my life. My lower back was so sore every morning after sleeping in it. I had to ask a few times for extra pillows to make it bearable. There should be tea and coffee facilities in rooms in a five star hotel.
