Season 7 of The Walking Dead only finished earlier this week, but already the excitement for the next season has begun.

British actor Andrew Lincoln, who has starred in the series since the very beginning, revealed to ComicBook.com how the season 8 will begin, even before the production has started!

With production due to start in a few weeks Andrew told the website,

"I'm more excited about this season. This is so real. I am ready to go. I can't wait. It's going to be insane this season."

Whilst Andrew confirmed the obvious, that the next season will begin where the last one ended, with Negan declaring war on Alexandria, the Kingdom and the Hilltop Colony, he also said it would be "one of the greatest".

Season 8 will start with the 100th episode and it sounds like we should expect an epic beginning to the new season.

"It's a huge milestone and, you know, it will be a big deal because there's a lot of the crew and a few of the cast left that have trudged all of those hard and sweaty and bloody miles together," Andrew said.

Series writer and producer Scott M. Gimple, also hinted that Eugene (Josh McDermitt) might meet his end in season 8.

"He has still not found the strength to get over his fear. He's still Negan after seeing everything Sasha is doing. I don't think it looks good for Eugene," Scott told Variety.

Season 8 of The Walking Dead will be shown in October this year and the first trailer is expect to drop at San Diego Comic Con in July.
