Taijitu is a secondary currency to chimes in The Arc and is considered much more valuable. In conjunction with chimes, taijitu are used to purchase various upgrades and resources at the Waiko Reward Shop and Ports Reward Shop, run by Boni. One taijitu is also required for the Jed Hunter miniquest.

They can be obtained through different ways:

Normally the taijitu are added directly to the currency pouch, but sources such as Motherlode Maw reward the item variant instead which can be clicked to add them to the pouch.

The best way to gather large amounts of taijitu is to repeatedly go on voyages and look for treasure chests, fortunate orokami, and taijitu on the ground. Picking up washed up supplies and other items on the ground can be used to get more chimes to buy supplies for more voyages from Rosie on Waiko.

Small voyages provide the cheapest supply/taijitu ratio whereas large voyages provide the fastest taijitu rate. See treasure chest for an analysis of the supply/taijitu ratios. Players can buy Uncharted island maps for 15,000 Dungeoneering tokens at the Elite Dungeon Reward Shop.

Additionally, fortunate orokami can drop 1-2 taijitu when caught, and the amount can be doubled after the Kami Spirits of the Arc achievement and talking to Sensei Seaworth to select double kami loot as a reward. When island hopping for taijitu, an additional 1 to 4 taijitu can be looted from fortunate orokami. As the experience from kami spirits are low, selecting the double loot option helps in gathering chimes and taijitu over time.

Purchasing all items from the Waiko Reward Shop excluding the teleports and experience lamps costs Taijitu.png: RS3 Inventory image of Taijitu 354 taijitu.
