House of Seven Gables or Sat Burzam Ghor

The House of Seven Gables was built by a localite Sebastiao da Silva, while serving as an emissary and a private secretary to the Viceroy of Portugal. It was the first instance when a Goan family was permitted to perform a mass at a private chapel built inside the premises. As the name suggests, this edifice was originally built with seven tiled roofs peaking up. Today, after four centuries and nearly five generations later, three remain.
This is a private property, thus isn’t open to all. You need to seek an appointment with the residents to explore it from the inside. Given the publicity this building has attracted, visitors may be frowned upon. Though this is the oldest property in the vicinity of Largo de Igreja or Church Square, the entire locality sports a Portuguese-era outlook, with large mansions, and makes for a good walk. Depending upon your interest, you can explore this site in anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour.
