Currently, the busiest months in Ibiza also include the second half of June and the first half of September, as flight connections, temperatures and leisure amenities are just as attractive as in the middle of summer. Without a doubt, if you travel during this period you will experience the island at its lively best and you will be able to choose from a wide range of things to see and do in Ibiza.

 

The best coves and beaches for July and August

 

During the high season, the most famous beaches receive many visitors, especially in the central summer months, such as Cala Bassa, Platges de Comte (Cala Conta) and Ses Salines. But in Ibiza there are many quiet coves where you can swim and go snorkelling. Grab a map and go out and find them: Cala Carbó, Cala Molí, Port des Torrent, Cala Xarraca, Cala d’en Serra, Cala de Boix, S’Estanyol…

 

The best months to go to clubs

 

Although the clubs officially open at the end of April or during May, the best parties in Ibiza by the most renowned DJs usually take place during July and August. Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, Amnesia and Es Paradis (in San Antonio) are the main clubs on the island, in addition to other venues that organise parties on certain days of the week, such as Cova Santa, Pikes Ibiza and DC10.

High season is the best time to go to Ibiza if you enjoy water and nautical activities and sports: snorkelling, scuba diving, paddle surfing, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, jet skiing, water biking…San Antonio Bay is the best place in Ibiza to enjoy all the water activities available on the island. What the weather is like in Ibiza in summer

 

The hottest months in Ibiza are July, August and September, with average temperatures between a maximum of 30ºC in August to a minimum of 19.5ºC in September. In general, and with the exception of a few days when temperatures are higher and humidity rises, the summer temperature in Ibiza is pleasant. As is the sea temperature, which in June is around 21ºC and in August is over 24ºC.

• Pack some beach shoes for when you want to swim in the quieter coves, where the seabeds often include both sand and pebbles.

Mid-season: for many, the best time to visit Ibiza

 

 

As soon as the heat starts in Ibiza, it’s a good time to grab your swimming costume and visit the island. And also when the temperatures start to drop, making it easier to enjoy land-based sporting activities. The months of April, May, September (second fortnight) and October make up the middle season, the best months to visit Ibiza if you are looking for the Ibiza of old.

 

The same beaches and clubs, but with more space

 

During these months you can enjoy all the good things about the island, but with less hustle and bustle. Except for the month of April, when the discos have not yet opened and the sea water is a little cool, the rest of the mid-season is perfect for enjoying Ibiza’s most beautiful coves and beaches and for going out at night. And also to visit the hippy markets of Las Dalias and Punta Arabí Hippy Market without the crowds. In addition, the famous openings and closings of Ibiza’s nightclubs take place in May and October, a must for fans of electronic music.

Some interesting events take place in April, May and October, such as the Ibiza Medieval Fair (second week of May), the Fiestas del Primer Domingo de Mayo (First Sunday in May), the Festival Barruguet de Teatro Familiar (last weekend in May), the Ibiza Marathon (April), the Jornadas Gastronómicas de Primavera Ibiza Sabors (May), Ibiza Trail Marathon (October), Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza (October) and the Ibiza Light Festival (October).

During spring and early autumn you can practice the same water and nautical activities and sports as in high season, but you can also add other activities that are now more appealing, such as hiking, cycling, horseback riding, golf or yoga retreats.

 

What the weather is like in Ibiza in spring and autumn

 

The weather in April, May and October is usually quite pleasant, with warm daytime temperatures and fairly cool nights. To give you an idea, April has an average temperature of 19ºC maximum and 11ºC minimum. In May it is between 22ºC and 14ºC and October between 23.5ºC and 16ºC. And although in April the water is still cool, when autumn arrives the sea remains warm for swimming thanks to the heat accumulated during the summer. And if you’re afraid of the rains, don’t worry; it rains an average of four days in April, three in May and six in October.

 

Low season: Ibiza at its most leisurely

 

 

From November to the end of March is the island’s quietest period, ideal for lovers of gastronomy, cultural visits, hiking and cycle touring. Although most hotels close during these dates, it is possible to take a weekend getaway to disconnect from the routine, as there are restaurants and beach bars that do not close or do so just for a few weeks to give staff a rest, such as Es Nàutic, Es Rebost de Can Prats, Ca n’Alfredo, Ca’s Pagès, Ca’s Milà, Can Pujol, Bar Costa, La Escollera Ibiza, Sa Caleta…

 

The weather in Ibiza in winter

 

Average winter temperatures range from a low of 7ºC in January to a high of 17ºC in March, so the island usually has a mild low season, which even allows you to sit out on a terrace in the sun without the need to wrap up.
