ghostgirl Kindle Edition
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
And if I should die before I awake,
I pray the popular attend my wake.
Charlotte Usher feels practically invisible at school, and then one day she really is invisible. Even worse: she's dead. And all because she choked on a gummy bear. But being dead doesn't stop Charlotte from wanting to be popular; it just makes her more creative about achieving her goal.
If you thought high school was a matter of life or death, wait till you see just how true that is. In this satirical, yet heartfelt novel, Hurley explores the invisibility we all feel at some times and the lengths we'll go to be seen.

I'm really liked this book! It was a cute, dark and humorous story! I do wish there was a little more horror. The story is a little cringey and cheesy at some parts. Without spoiling the plot it's about finding redeption. I feel like it was lacking in depth like it was missing something. The writing could have been better. There were a lot of name drops. I'd say it was a bit too much, but I love how every chapter starts with a quote / lyrics from a famous person or band. The cover in my opinion is misleading. It makes the book seem cartoony and kid friendly, but it actually isn't for young kids. I'd say it more for mid teens and older. There is the language, references of sex and slut shaming. Aside from that the story is kind of juvenile in some parts. If I read this when it first came out I think I would have really loved it! Now as an adult I really like it, but some of the dark themes seemed a little depressing for me. I was very satisfied with the ending and I am very interested in the next book!
