Added an acrylic disc top to reduce evaporation and salt creep. Unintended effect was higher water temp at mid-day. Temp peaked at 82F. Moved the jar out of direct sunlight to reduce this effect.

I also raised the light to 13" to reduce PAR. It is still 200+ at the sand bed.

ytateno ‐ It looks good! Is it an experimental aquarium?
kjames ‐ Thanks! Yes, it is an experiment. I'm interested in how a very small volume of water can be managed with simple equipment. No intention of adding any fish or invertebrates - just easy corals. Plus, it's just fun.
ytateno@kjames I also have experience with marine aquariums from 5 liter pico tank to 800 liter large tank. In addition, I am challenging a freshwater aquarium of less than one liter.
A small aquarium is fun because it's so difficult.
I wish you success.
ytateno ‐ In recent years, I have been challenging a small aquarium for the same purpose as you. My challenge is how much can be done with a small amount of water.
If you have the time, I would be happy to search AquaticLog for the word [ytateno] and see my aquarium.
The cover picture of 87system'15-18 shows almost the same amount of water as you.
87system'19pico is a freshwater aquarium of less than 1 liter, with no filter or heater.
I was happy to find someone who said the same idea, and it became a long sentence :D
