Arjen Robben determined to play for Bayern Munich again before season’s end

It’s been a difficult season for Robben with multiple setbacks, but he’s confident he’ll feature again before he bids Bavaria farewell.

It has been a season full of injury setbacks for Arjen Robben, but the Dutchman remains confident that he’ll play for Bayern Munich again before the season ends. Robben hasn’t featured for Bayern since November, in their Champions League win over Benfica at the Allianz Arena. He has dealt with thigh problems, calf problems, and even a rotten tooth this season.

In a recent interview (Bild), the Dutchman said he’s still certain he’ll play for Bayern again before the season closes. Despite spending such a long spell on the sidelines, Robben admitted that he is okay with the principle of not rushing back from any given injury, and that his progress as of late has gone quite well:

I’m on a good path again, but I’m not back with the team yet. That will still take some time. There’s nothing else to do besides working hard and being patient in order to get back on the field.

Realizing that the season is quickly approaching its final stage, and in light of the fact that his contract expires in the summer, it is Robben’s parting wish to play in a red jersey at least one more time before he moves on:

These are my last two months with this team, and I’ve played here for ten years. I want to put the jersey on and play again. That’s the most important thing to me. The last few months have been tough, but I love soccer. If my body cooperates, I’d love to continue.

Robben’s no stranger to winning titles and playing in big matches, either. If and when he is fit, his experience and composure could be vital down the stretch for Bayern as they push for the domestic double. Niko Kovac can rely on Robben to instill some calmness in the big moments if he’s fully fit. The two titles are exactly what Robben is focused on in addition to getting back to full fitness:

We still have two competitions this season, and we’ll hopefully finish with two titles.

Hopefully Mr. Wembley can play a big part for us before the season’s over!

Could we perhaps see another cup final goal?
