Anne Hathaway made a triumphant entrance at the South by Southwest festival in Austin to present her latest project, The Idea of You—the long-awaited movie largely believed to be based on a Harry Styles fanfic—that will hit Prime Video on May 2.

To kick off this promotional tour, the star of The Devil Wears Prada opted for a rhinestone-encrusted minidress from French fashion house Patou’s spring-summer 2024 collection. While the garment featured a band across the chest on the runway, Hathaway and her stylist, Erin Walsh, dispensed with that to give the dress a more standard baby doll silhouette.

It’s a fun and relaxed look in every way. And not coincidentally, the show in which this dress was presented alluded to dopamine dressing. “To me, fashion should bring a smile,” Patou’s creative director Guillaume Henry told Vogue Runway of the collection in July 2023. “Considering the energy of what’s happening everywhere, my personal mood was wanting to put something to put a smile on people’s faces.”

Anne Hathaway accessorized her dress with a pair of metallic peep-toe sandals and a couple of simple bracelets. Her only other accessory was a silver handbag, while her beauty look would fit in at Coachella 2024. She kept her brown hair loose, with curtain fringe and completely natural makeup.

It’s possible that these boho and festive touches with the piece were not random. After all, The Idea of You follows the love story of Solène Marchand (Hathaway), who meets boyband member Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine) at Coachella, and is there any better place to unleash the boho trend?
