Name a more iconic red lipstick than MAC's Ruby Woo – we'll wait. Didn't think so. The cherry shade, which can be described as a brilliant blue red, has been a firm favourite among makeup lovers for its highly pigmented formula and its matte and long-lasting finish since it first launched over 20 years ago. To this day, one Ruby Woo Lipstick sells every eight seconds making it one of the most popular lipsticks ever.

The iconic product has reached true cult status thanks to a diehard celebrity following that includes Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Janet Jackson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Gwen Stefani among others, making it a staple at any red carpet event or awards ceremony.

Now, the brand has revealed a new collection of five lip products, all of which pay homage to the  signature shade. The collection, Ruby's Crew, launches on 7th October and offers different finishes and textures including the original Retro Matte (a light-absorbing, velvet matte finish) as well as three new iterations.

First up, there's the new Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Ruby Phew!, which provides a striking pigment payoff and an intense matte coverage. Although MAC launched their range of liquid matte lipsticks back in 2015, Ruby Woo was never one of the shades, much to fans' dismay, so the fact that the shade will finally be available in liquid format will comes as welcome news for many.

Then there's Powder Kiss Lipstick in Ruby New, which offers a softer, diffused, just-kissed finish and weightless wear. Finally, Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour  in Ruby Boo, a liquid lipstick with a whipped, mousse-like texture for a high-impact but hydrating matte finish.

The collection also boasts new art deco packaging, with the shade name of each product printed in bold lettering on the stand-out red casing.
