In fact, the legend has attended the Oscars in five different decades and managed to wear a memorable look every single time. 1968
For her first Oscars appearance, Cher attended alongside Sonny Bono in a pink and metallic satin gown. To take it up a notch, the singer subtly braided some pink and gold fabric into her hair to match the dress.
1973
Five years later, Cher made her return to the awards show in a gold, jewel-encrusted Bob Mackie look, hoop earrings, pink dagger nails and abs that could rule their own country. She wasn't even nominated for an award, but she still won the whole damn show.
1974
The following year, Cher hit the 46th Academy Awards in another Bob Mackie-designed look that showed off her killer abs. This time, the singer opted for a coordinating top and skirt made out of a colorful, thin fabric that some may consider a beach sarong. For Cher, however, it was transformed into eveningwear when paired with an ornate flower headpiece and choker. Don't forget the matching eye shadow and nails.
1983
New decade, new Bob Mackie style. For her first Oscars appearance of the '80s, Cher traded in her belly-baring looks of the past for a long-sleeve, full length gown. Don't worry though, it was still see-through.
1984
In her first year as an official Oscar nominee, Cher showed up for the occasion in a sparkling, naked dress designed by none other than Bob Mackie. She accessorized the look with dangling diamond earrings and boyfriend Val Kilmer.
1986
"Do you believe?" CAUSE I DO NOT. The Academy asked Cher to present the award for Best Supporting Actor this year and boy, did she show up to present. She stole the red carpet in a Bob Mackie headpiece and black jewel-encrusted look that deserved an Oscar in its own right.
1988
Cher took home the Oscar for Best Actress for Moonstruck this year in another Bob Mackie design. Serving up yet another iconic red carpet look, she dazzled in a jewel-encrusted naked dress with a sparkling fringe bra and matching shawl.
1989

Going for another headpiece look, Cher shut down the '98 Oscars in a nude see-through dress and matching choker.
