Young girls get sporty this summer
In a bid to introduce young, female students to sports and physical endurance, St Thomas HS organised a month-long sports camp

Aldona sports summer camp 2019 was organised at the premises of
St Thomas Girls High School playground in Aldona. A total of 70 students took
part in the camp. During the camp, students were trained in football, hockey,
volleyball, throw ball, basketball and for the first time, they were introduced
to the game of Futsal.
The coaches present for each game trained the students under
their guidance and sports skills, making the sessions fun and informational.
Each day, the students learnt different skills and techniques of
the game. The main objective of the camp was to give young children an
opportunity to learn games and get fitness. The camp began with warm-up
exercises and later played games among the teams.
The final day of the camp ended with exciting games in which the
students were divided into four teams and exciting team competitions were held.
All the participants were given prizes and snacks. The students agree that the
month-long camp was an amazing experience and they thanked the coaches and the
school for giving them this opportunity.
