MAPUSA: The Directorate of Archives and Archaeology said that the Department has tendered restoration work of the collapsed wall of Alorna Fort in the process of issuing work order. The work will be completed in 60 days excluding monsoon.
The department of archaeology had undertaken the restoration work of the Alorna Fort which was completed in 2018 however, a small portion of fort wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall in October 2020.
Directorate of Archives and Archaeology has clarified that the Alorna Fort is a State protected Monument under ‘The Goa Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1978 and Rules, 1980.
