Facts about the Titanic, the 'unsinkable' ship defeated by a 1000 BC iceberg
The RMS Titanic still lies at the depth of 12,415 ft in the bottom of the North Atlantic ocean, where it sank after hitting an iceberg.
We all know about Titanic, the unsinkable ship that sank on its maiden voyage, either because we read about it somewhere or watched James Cameron's Titanic.
But Cameron could not include everything about the massive ship and its sinking in the movie itself, right?
For example, did you know that the Californian was the nearest ship which could have saved the passengers when the Titanic was sinking, but it couldn't be done because the Captain refused to issue any orders? Or that more than 100 bodies were buried at sea because they were too damaged to be taken back to the shore? There are more such facts, some of which, we will probably never know.
On April 10, in the year 1912, the RMS Titanic left on her maiden (and final) voyage. On April 15, it sank after hitting an iceberg at 02:20 am ship's time. This led the 'Ship of Dreams' to take its last journey to the bottom of the North Atlantic ocean, where it still lies at a depth of 12,415 ft.
