WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Actor Kelsey Grammer is coming to Wichita.

The six-time Emmy Award winner will be performing with the Wichita Grand Opera in Leonard Bernstein’s operetta “Candide.” Grammer serves as narrator and also plays the role of Dr. Pangloss in the operetta based on Voltaire’s 1759 satirical novel of the same name.

Grammer is best known for playing Dr. Frasier Crane on “Cheers” and the spin-off “Frasier,” a character he recently returned to with a reboot on the Paramount Plus streaming platform. He attended Julliard and was a stage actor before landing the Cheers role in 1984.

He has over 100 screen credits, including the voice of the recurring villain Sideshow Bob on “The Simpsons” and as the mutant Beast in the X-Men movie franchise.

There will be two performances of “Candide” that will take place at Century II Concert Hall on April 27 and 28. Tickets will be available for purchase at a later date through Select A Seat.
