Starting the cast on and finished ‘budding lace beginning’ (chart #1); continuing with ‘budding lace repeat’ (chart #2).

Finished all chart #2, i did 19 Repeats to make a bigger shawl.

- ’lily of the valley border’ part (chart 3A, B, C, D), done.
- Starting ‘lace border’ (chart #4) -- in order to make the stitch count even, need to add 4 more stitches. Since i was almost ran out of yarn, i made M1 stitch purlwise on 2nd row (ws) at 2 YO after 2 garter st border and at the center part instead of repeating these first 2 rows twice like most knitters seem did on this chart. Remember to keep the YO position when adding the M1 (e.g. after the first 2 garter st border, purl the YO then M1; but at the first YO at the center, you make M1 then purl the YO, etc).
- ran out of yarn, sadly had to use different brand with the same material (rayon) but unfortunately the color and the weight was slightly different (just a tad darker and heavier) oh well.. :(.
- finished the scalloped lace edging (chart #5), and used the elastic cast off.
((I made a mistake on chart #3 (first row of nupps part) oops!, unfortunately i just realized it after i did the cast off.
So..o not going to frog this, and so this will stay as is, mistake and all hmmpffthh :(.. Since i’m planning on knitting a 2nd one, i just have to be extra careful on doing this particular chart.))
Even with the additional rep. on budding lace part, it’s still not big enough to my liking. More like a shawlette than a shawl.. sigh
Note to self : use bigger needle size or add even more repeat on chart #2, maybe on chart #3 as well if i have the time to do all the math on stich counting, or just wait till someone patience enough to do it first sucessfully, so i'm crossing finger now ;p.
Now i just need to blocked my first ever swallowtail.
Notes :
- i used this forum to made the size modification and stitch count on the shawl.
- for the nupps, i used this technique with crochet hook (it’s easier when i made 7 stitches nupp IMO, oh and i used a size 3.0mm clover ergo hook)
