There are only a few things for certain in Hollywood: actors always seem to fall for one another on film sets, there will usually be sequels, and Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway will never step out in something that’s not showstopping.
We’ve known since before her fashionable role in The Devil Wears Prada that Hathaway was destined to be a fashion icon. No matter the red carpet event, from premieres to the star-studded Oscars, Hathaway always comes in something that wows everyone.
We’ve seen her rock the Barbiecore trend, a series of dramatic LBDs, and nearly every color of the rainbow, and our jaws always drop with each new look. (Don’t even get us started on her dramatic Met Gala looks!) But in the past year alone, she’s really stepped up her red carpet fashion game by not only adding the drama, but the color and cutouts!
Since teaming up with stylist Erin Walsh, Hathaway’s fashion has been edgy, elegant, daring and boundary-pushing — which is everything she is and more. In a March 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she praised Walsh for helping her make her mark on the fashion industry. “Erin sees my idiosyncrasies as a strength…Maybe there was initial confusion with me because I was introduced to the world as a teenage princess, but I never actually connected to things that are ‘sweet’ and ‘pretty’ — no shade at all for those wonderful options. I love the right risk, as does she,” Hathaway said.
Yet even with Hathaway’s wide array of looks over the past 20 years, she has a simple style mantra: she’s all about feeling good! She told Vogue back in 2022, “I’m dressing with a lot more gratitude and a lot more joy!”
