Cavalier King Charles SpanielThese gorgeous little tail-wagging dogs are a prime dog show breed who will form very close attachments to their humans. They will enjoy both lying on your lap and fetching a stick, so they make excellent companions regardless of your situation.

King Charles Spaniel Bio:

Breed group: toy / companion Average Life Span: 9 - 15 years Coat Colours: Blenheim, tricolour, black & tan, ruby. Height: 9 to 11 inches Weight: 8 to 14 pounds The King Charles Spaniel is often mistaken for its cousin, the Cavalier though they are completely different breeds. The King Charles is much smaller. This is a very friendly breed of dog, quieter than other toy breeds and content to sit on your lap and spend lots of time in the home with the family. Due to their friendly, affectionate temperament, they might not make the best guard dogs. They are noble looking – almost royal in their demeanour and appearance, which is fitting given their name and history of the breed. Their hair is long and silky, wavy in parts and they will need regular grooming, probably professionally to keep their coats silky and healthy. Exercise wise, though not very high energy dogs, the King Charles Spaniel will only need 2 short walks a day, of 20-30 minutes each. This will keep them healthy and stop them from becoming overweight. Delightful little companion dogs, the King Charles Spaniel makes a great lapdog, friend to children and other pets (though small animals to be avoided as their hunting instinct will remain).
