Each in custom quarter blue silk over marbled board clamshell case.
First English editions, first issues, of Daisy Miller: A Study and An International Episode
Daisy Miller remains one of James's most popular and also scarcest works. There were only two printings of 250 copies each, issued a month apart. With its large print and wide spacing, this edition of Daisy Miller demonstrates the degree to which the multi-volume format had become the standard. These three tales could have easily fit within one volume, but the lending libraries (who bought almost all of the copies) insisted upon multiple volumes as it increased their rental income.
A fine copy of a remarkably scarce title
