What to do on a weekend in Benidorm

Friday afternoon

After arriving in what the locals call “skyscraper city”, stretch your legs with a stroll along the famous Paseo de Levante and have an ice cream while you mingle with the happy holidaymakers. Elche park is also a great place to have a wander among the palm trees, before you go to the town centre to try all the Mediterranean style tapas on offer. And as there’s still the whole weekend ahead of you, you can relax and have a drink or two on the terrace bars near the beach.

Saturday morning

If you like getting up early and you want a spectacular photo, try watching the sunrise from the Balcón del Mediterráneo, a famous viewing point overlooking the sea.For those who like a little adrenaline with their fun, Terra Mítica is less than 15 minutes from Benidorm. This is a huge amusement park with rides for all ages, where you can spend an exciting day.If you prefer nature, 20 kilometres away is Las Fuentes de l’Algar. This is a set of waterfalls and natural pools connected by channels and streams, where you can swim and enjoy the scenery. And in warm weather, the Aqua Natura water park is an ideal option for spending the day, where the kids will have a wonderful time on water slides, pools and rides.

Saturday afternoon

If you decide to spend the day in Benidorm, Levante beach is the ideal place to enjoy the sun until lunchtime. And now you have a wide range of culinary options to choose from. Try traditional local dishes like arroz a banda (rice with seafood), pebrot (fish and red peppers), or coca farcida (tuna pie).After lunch there’s plenty to do. Go mad for speed on the go-karts, enjoy an afternoon’s shopping, or explore the streets of Benidorm’s old town centre where you can discover bars, shops, and unique spots.
