In a balance of 2019, the company revealed that 3.3 million children and 25 million elderly passengers were transported, over a total distance of nearly 33 million kilometres (32,902,741 kms).

According to Carris, last year around 90 improvements were implemented in services, "not only the measures foreseen in the 2019 Activity Plan and Budget but also a set of other efforts and reinforcements in the offer".

According to the company, there are 191 new buses in service, in addition to 11 new routes out of a total of 97 operating in the city of Lisbon.

Among the measures it implemented in 2019, Carris highlighted that it is possible to obtain a pass in 15 minutes, the acquisition of 15 electric buses and the launching of a tender to buy 15 articulated electric buses.

Carris is a public passenger transport company of the city of Lisbon, founded in 1872, and managed by the Lisbon City Council.
