The 'Back to the Future' hoverboard sorta exists

In Back to the Future Part II, Marty McFly rides a hoverboard. The year is supposed to be 2015.

Well, today it's 2014, and we already have the first real hoverboard!

Pro skateboarder Tony Hawk, who previously pranked the Internet by sharing a video of a fake hoverboard, insists "this is real, folks." Watch him attempt to ride the thing:

For now, the magnetic board doesn't hover very high, and it can only be ridden over materials like aluminum or copper. But then again, even the Back to the Future board had limitations: It couldn't ride on water (without "power").

Come on Hendo (the company that made the board), you only have one year to make the McFly-style board!
