Kelsey Grammer defends taking baby to Playboy party

• Baby slept through party
• Kelsey doesn't have a sitter
• His message to us all: "Happy Halloween and Cock-a-doodle-doo!"

New dad Kelsey Grammer is explaining himself after photos surfaced of his baby at a Playboy party.

TMZ posted a photo of Grammer's 3-month-old daughter, Faith, fast asleep in her baby carrier at Hef's Playboy Mansion this past weekend for the annual Halloween bash, "surrounded by hot chicks, booze ... and velvet," as the site put it.

Now, Grammer, 57, says that, yes, he and wife Kayte, took baby Faith with them to the party.

In a statement sent to us by his rep, the Boss star says:

"Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted baby-sitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us," said Grammer. "We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight."

He goes on to say in true Grammer fashion, "Kayte dressed as a witch (her hat was missing as she had removed it because her wig was itching and it was hot) — I threw together an uninspired Dracula. We enjoyed the evening. We love our child. Kayte is my wife and lady love (who is 31 and goes by the name Kayte Grammer, by the way, not Walsh). The world is round. All our eyes are blue. Happy Halloween and Cock-a-doodle-doo!"
