If there was ever an actress that captured the 1950s fresh-faced, wholesome ideal, it would be Sandra Dee. The actress made a name for herself playing ingénunes in films like Gidget, Imitation of Life and The Reluctant Debutante. She also married a heartthrob of the era, singer Bobby Darin. Dee’s acting career slowed down around 1970, but the blonde beauty’s wholesome image was immortalized in the 1978 film Grease in the song “Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee.” Today would have been Sandra Dee’s 73rd birthday.
