An involuntary replacement of the bonnet, including the locking bar, could be waiting for 24,950 Dacia Logan and Sandero owners.
The repair, which takes a little over four hours, is necessary if a previous check has revealed defects in the latch, Martin Zimmermann, Senior Vice President Communications and Member of the Board Renault Deutschland AG, confirmed when asked by the kfz-rueckrufe.de website.
“If the locking bar is cracked, it cannot be ruled out in extreme cases that the bonnet opens while driving,” he said, explaining the recall launched in mid-May with the internal manufacturer code “0DLP”. The vehicles affected by this recall were produced in different periods between 2 September 2020 and 15 January 2021.
Dacia Logan manufactured in the Pitesti Factory between 05/11/2020 and 23/12/2020.
Dacia Sandero manufactured in the Pitesti Factory between 02/09/2020 to 13/01/2021 and in the Tanger Factory between 08/10/2020 and 15/01/2021.
Dacia Sandero and Logan MCVs manufactured between September 2017, and October 2018 were also recalled in January this year due to possible damage to the vehicle’s starter if the key remains locked in the start position. We wrote about this in an article.
