Abstract

An improved makeup brush is formed according to the standard twisted wire method, but includes an extended brush tip. The invention provides a makeup brush for the more convenient application of eye makeup to the eye lashes and the eye lines (also referred to as lash lines); using the same brush. During the brush forming process, the end of the twisted wire forms a horizontal loop, wherein bristles are pressed between to form a straight brush tip (i.e. having a spiral pattern along the lengths of the bristles and ending with nonspiraled straight bristles at the tip). It is made using either synthetic bristles of nylon, polyester or horsehair, and can be attached to any suitable wand.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The cosmetic industry has supplied and used eye makeup applications along with applicator brushes for many years. More specifically, the industry standard for eye lash makeup has been the twisted wire mascara brushes. The twisted wire brushes have been used for many years because it is easy to manufacture.
Mascara is used to elongate, thicken, and darken the lashes. Eyeliner is used to accentuate the eyes, by outlining and giving definition to the shape of the eyes. Mascara and eyeliner makeup is available in a light fluid paste wax or in liquid form and is applied by a makeup brush that is attached to the end of a wand. Eyeliner is also applied using an eye liner pencil.
Mascara is usually applied by holding the wand horizontally, rolling the wand slightly in an upward motion for applying mascara to the upper lashes and in a downward motion for applying mascara to the lower lashes, moving along the length of the lashes to brush on and distribute mascara evenly. Applying mascara to lower lashes should be done lightly, to avoid smudging. Eye liner is applied by drawing a thin line evenly along the length of the upper and lower lash lines, close to the base of the lashes, using a separate brush or an eyeliner pencil.
At times, the tip of the mascara brush is used to apply additional makeup close to the tips of the eye lashes and to distribute makeup to lower lashes. Using the tip of the standard mascara brush is a potential risk and could cause eye injury due to the exposed wire. The present design would prevent that risk as the tip is made using soft bristles, and is free of wire, and allows for the application of makeup to the eye lines.
What is desired, therefore, is a makeup brush which allows for the application of eye makeup to the eye lashes and the eye lines, using the same brush, and without exposed wire, which is relatively simple to manufacture and use.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides an improved makeup brush for the more convenient application of eye makeup to the eye lashes and the eye lines without the need for a separate brush, and which is relatively simple to manufacture and use.
According to the invention, this brush is formed with a number of bristles twisted between a wire section, wherein each of the bristles extends out from both sides of a twisted wire section; having a spiral pattern along the lengths of the bristles, with an extended section of straight bristles forming an extended brush tip. The end of the twisted wire forms a horizontal loop, wherein bristles are pressed in between to form a straight brush tip.
The present invention further provides a brush tip, with no wire core, which will allow for the application of makeup to the eye line; sweep away excess mascara clumps, and separate eye lashes.
Accordingly, the present invention, therefore, to provides a makeup brush comprising, a mascara brush with an eyeliner brush tip, which allows for the application of eye makeup to the eye lashes and the eye lines without the need for a separate brush; which is relatively simple to manufacture and use. It is made using either synthetic bristles of nylon, polyester or horsehair, and can be attached to any suitable wand.
Details of the invention will become apparent from the resulting description taken in conjunction with the drawing.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is plan view of a makeup brush comprising; a mascara brush with an eyeliner brush tip, using synthetic appearance bristles showing the design.

Claims

1. A makeup brush comprising, a mascara brush with an eyeliner brush tip, and;

2. A makeup brush according to claim 1, with a number of bristles twisted between a wire section, wherein each of the bristles extends out from both sides of a twisted wire section, with an extended section of straight bristles forming at the tip, and;

3. A makeup brush according to claim 1, wherein the end of the wire section forms a horizontal loop with bristles pressed in between, and;

4. A makeup brush according to claim 1, wherein the tip section consists of nonspiraled bristles with no wire core, and;

5. The makeup brush according to claim 1, consists of a wire core and bristle section having an appearance of a spiral pattern, and a section with no wire having a nonspiral pattern, and;

6. The makeup brush according to claim 1, wherein said bristles are selected from synthetic bristles consisting of nylon, polyester or horsehair.
